LOOM WEAVING
HANDLOOM TAPESTRY WEAVING & NARRATIVE WEFT
Setting coarse linen warps on vertical upright looms to weave large-scale pictorial wall tapestries depicting nocturnal forest clearings and ancient beast legends.
In cold, stone-walled castles and drafty timber houses, textiles were life itself: insulating walls from winter frost, silencing echoes, and transforming blank walls into vibrant storybooks. In the Wolfesque universe, textile art is our salute to the ancient weavers whose craft outlived kingdoms.
Formed in the wolfesque style, our textile art connects the wardrobe silhouettes of Costume Design with the spatial atmosphere of Interior Design, the handwork of Crafts, and the decorative motifs of Ornament.
Six core fiber and weaving disciplines guide our narrative tapestries, embroidery, and natural dyeing.
LOOM WEAVING
Setting coarse linen warps on vertical upright looms to weave large-scale pictorial wall tapestries depicting nocturnal forest clearings and ancient beast legends.
NATURAL COLOR
Extracting rich, lightfast hues from foraged materials: boiled walnut husks for sepia, madder root for deep terracotta, indigo leaves for midnight blue, and oak galls for iron grey.
NEEDLEWORK
Stitching 2-ply worsted wool yarns and gilded metal threads across heavy linen twill to create raised, tactile foliage, thorny vines, and mythical animal crests.
TACTILE FIBERS
Selecting densely spun highland wools, raw slubbed linens, and distressed silk velvets that drape with heavy gravitational weight and acoustic dampening.
WALL ADORNMENT
Designing heraldic castle pennants, embroidered altar frontals, and portière door curtains that insulate stone chambers from winter winds.
DURABILITY
Finishing textiles with hand-knotted macramé fringes, beeswax thread coating, and selvedge edges engineered to endure centuries of hanging.
