Our Commitment
Wolfesque is dedicated to ensuring digital accessibility for all visitors, including people with disabilities. We continually refine the user experience to ensure our literary essays, visual culture monographs, audio works, and editorial recommendations remain clear, accessible, and comfortable for everyone.
Conformance Target
We target the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA standards as our baseline technical benchmark. These guidelines define best practices for making web content perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for people with diverse auditory, cognitive, neurological, physical, speech, and visual needs.
Implemented Accessibility Features
- Keyboard Operability: A visible "Skip to main content" link, logical tab ordering, visible focus outlines, and zero keyboard traps across all navigation links, buttons, and reading modules.
- Semantic Structure: Strict HTML5 semantic landmark structure (
<header>,<nav>,<main>,<article>,<section>,<footer>) and orderly heading hierarchies (H1 through H3). - Text Scalability & Zoom: Full layout responsiveness supporting 200% browser zoom and mobile viewport reflow without loss of content or functional clipping.
- Motion Sensitivity: Automatic adherence to the
prefers-reduced-motionoperating system setting, disabling or simplifying atmospheric animations and transitions. - Color Contrast & Legibility: High-contrast typography designed for dark reading surfaces, avoiding color as the sole conveyor of editorial meaning.
- Image Alternatives: Factual, descriptive alternative text for informative editorial images, book covers, and screen media, paired with empty alt tags (
alt="") for decorative textures.
Known Limitations & Continuous Improvement
While we strive for comprehensive accessibility across all 200+ historical archives and essays, some legacy content or third-party embeds may have minor limitations:
- Some third-party merchant and streaming widgets may introduce variable focus styling outside our direct markup control.
- Archival historical diagrams and complex manuscript tables are continuously being updated with enhanced text descriptions.
